Terms & Conditions

PupVella™ & PurrVella™  

Grooming Release, Service Agreement & Client Policies**                           

A brand family of Mitten’s Pets™ LLC  

 

Purpose of This Agreement  

This agreement outlines the policies, expectations, and inherent risks associated with grooming services provided by Mitten’s Pets™ LLC, including PupVella™ (dog grooming) and PurrVella™ (cat grooming).  

By scheduling services, you acknowledge that you have reviewed, understand, and agree to the terms below. These policies apply to all grooming services unless otherwise stated in writing.

 

General Grooming Acknowledgment & Assumption of Risk 

 Professional grooming is a hands-on service that involves physical handling, tools, water, dryers, and close contact. While every precaution is taken to provide a calm, low-stress experience, grooming may:  

  • Cause temporary stress or anxiety  

  • Reveal or aggravate underlying or pre-existing medical conditions  

  • Result in minor skin irritation or coat changes  

  • Trigger behavioral responses during or after the appointment  

You understand and agree that Mitten’s Pets™ LLC, PupVella™, and PurrVella™ cannot be held responsible for conditions that pre-exist or are not disclosed, or for reactions that occur as a natural result of grooming.  

 

Service Modification or Discontinuation  

Your pet’s safety and comfort—and the safety of our team—are always our top priorities. For this reason, Mitten’s Pets™ LLC reserves the right to adjust, modify, or discontinue services if grooming is determined to be unsafe or overly stressful.  

If services are discontinued, you will be contacted promptly and remain responsible for services performed up to that point.  

Veterinary Authorization & Medical Disclosure  

You confirm that all known medical conditions, behavioral concerns, and bite history have been disclosed prior to service. You authorize Mitten’s Pets™ LLC to: 

  • Obtain veterinary care if deemed necessary 

  • Communicate with your veterinarian regarding concerns  

  • Use appropriate, humane handling and restraint methods All veterinary care and associated costs remain the responsibility of the pet owner.  

Spay / Neuter & Social Safety Considerations  

To promote a safe, calm environment:  

  • Pets receiving grooming services in shared spaces are expected to be spayed or neutered  

  • Puppies and kittens may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis  

  • Pets exhibiting unsafe or sexually reactive behavior may require modified services or may be declined  

Senior & High-Risk Pets Senior Cats (10 Years and Older)  

Cats aged ten (10) years or older require written veterinary approval prior to scheduling grooming services.  

You acknowledge that grooming senior cats carries increased risk, and you agree that Mitten’s Pets™ LLC, PupVella™, and PurrVella™ are not responsible for medical complications that may arise as a result of grooming.  

Vaccination Requirements (Strictly Enforced) For the health and safety of pets and staff: 

Cats (PurrVella™) & Dogs (PupVella™) 

  • Rabies vaccination is required 

  • Vaccination must be administered at least seven (7) days prior to the appointment 

  • A valid 1-year or 3-year rabies certificate must be provided 

  • Documentation must be received prior to service 

  • Grooming services cannot be performed without proper documentation 

Arrival & Transportation Guidelines 

Cats 

  • Must arrive in secure, individual carriers 

  • One cat per carrier 

  • If a carrier is not provided, one may be supplied at the owner’s expense 

Dogs 

  • Must arrive on a leash 

  • Owners are asked to remove and reapply any harnesses, coats, or gear 

  • Dogs should be fully pottied prior to entering the facility 

Accidents & Sanitation (Dogs) 

Occasional indoor accidents can occur. Dogs that have repeated accidents during grooming may incur additional sanitation or cleanup fees. Ongoing issues may limit our ability to continue services. 

 

Deposits, Cancellations & No-Show Policy 

1. Deposits 

  • Dog grooming appointments require a $30 non-refundable deposit 

  • Cat grooming deposits are required as outlined at booking and are non-refundable 

  • Deposits may be transferred with at least 48 hours’ notice 

 

2. Late Cancellations & No-Shows 

  • Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice result in deposit forfeiture

 

3. Same-day cancellations or no-shows require: 

  • Forfeiture of the deposit 

  • Payment of 50% of the scheduled service total 

  • A new $30 deposit to rebook 

We understand unexpected situations arise and will review emergencies on a case-by-case basis. 

*Clients with more than three (3) cancellations or no-shows within a 12-month period may no longer be eligible for future appointments. 

Late Drop-Off & Pickup 
  • Appointments begin at the scheduled time 

  • Late arrivals may impact service availability 

  • Pets should be picked up within 30 minutes of completion notification 

  • Late pickup fees may apply 

Refund Policy 

  • All grooming services are non-refundable. 

If you have concerns about your pet’s service, we ask that you speak with a team member before leaving so we may address them promptly. 

Photography & Media Use 

You grant Mitten’s Pets™ LLC and its brands permission to photograph or record your pet for educational, marketing, or promotional purposes. 

Pricing & Policy Updates 

Prices and policies may change without notice and may vary based on coat condition, temperament, time required, or service complexity. 

Acknowledgment & Agreement 

By scheduling services, you confirm that you have reviewed and understand this agreement and agree to all terms and policies outlined above. 

Failure to follow these policies may result in additional charges, modified services, or discontinuation of future grooming services.
